Here's the whole story
Brought up in a musical family Father being musical arranger for his Barber Shop Quartet. the Skylinaires, Mother and Sister (classically trained) soprano's, it took me a few years to discover my powerful alto voice. My first musical adventure was back in the mid 70's in Scotland with a group called Kontact, a cabaret band doing clubs, pubs and functions. I did have a successful audition for Black Gold records in Glasgow but pregnancy with second child put paid to that, hey ho. I had a long gap while bringing up my family then the 00's has been a busy period again musically. I have been lead singer for covers band No Alibi in South Wales, covering classic rock combined with some hits at that time such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kieser Chiefs etc. I have experience in Studio recordings doing lead vocal and as I have an ear for harmonies I also did the backing vocals for local studios. I have also put together lyrics for friends compositions. Having to move due to 'day job' necessity I did some solo work using backing tracks doing clubs and functions in the Cambridgeshire area, then lead vocals with the Doc Martins Blues band in Cambridge. Now living in Northampton and involved in small projects but always interested in anything new vocally. The powerful alto voice is even stronger than all these years ago.

Hi Lynda

Love your vocals on the tracks and the video. Good bands too, hope you are settled and using that talent by now.

Hi Lynda, are you in London? If so, I'm looking for a singer for a blues/rock band - sort of Janis Joplin/Maggie Bell kind of thing, with guitar, bass and drums. No money at pressent (in fact, would want the singer to share rehearsal room costs with the rest of us), but gigs waiting - our guitarist has good contacts with a couple of promoters, although I'm afraid it's the usual London thing of only getting paid if we drag x number of people along. We range in age from mid 30s (guitarist) to late 40s (me), and rehearse near Old Street (I live in SW London, the other 2 in Wapping). If you might be interested, there are some ropy video/audio tracks on our myspace page - search for myspace/quicktickettonowhere. If you happen to get this today or tomorrow, we're practising tomorrow night (Tuesday 23rd) and would love to see you any time between 7 and 10 at Rooz studio. My mobile is 07957 482297 if you want to get in touch.
Cheers! Martin Scott
