- Long story!! Started out at age 13 playing bass with a school outfit, moved on to a five peice playing 'sock it to me soul' by the age of 15 and after not quite getting anywhere nearly got noticed at 17 travelling all over in a blue transit. Good times!! Decided not to go 'pro' and instead worked the Welsh valleys until I retired at the age of 20 (Too old, fat, ugly and talentless) Returned to the fold at the age of 22 taking up the guitar job in a club outfit where I stayed for 5 years until a bass job came up with a fairly busy showband around the Bath area. Stuck with that until 1984 when out of the blue an old buddy rang up to enquire whether I fancied a residency. Tough choice .... regular money and two nights a week every week. Been with the same band ever since.... Bristol legends 'Shakane'
