How to use the Venues and Studios (Info/Feedback) pages

Adding a Venue or Studio

The VENUES (INFO/FEEDBACK) and STUDIOS (INFO/FEEDBACK) pages (accessible via the main menu) are intended as information and feedback resources to be created collaboratively by members. Members are free to add venues and studios, update details, and to comment on their experiences of those that are listed. If every member contributed details of one venue or studio we would have quite information resource!

1) Go to VENUES (INFO/FEEDBACK) or STUDIOS (INFO/FEEDBACK) in the main menu

If you are adding a venue, you should see this page, below:

(if you are adding a studio it should say 'All Groups/Pages in Studios')

2) DON'T just hit the  button!

Instead, search your county or region's Venues/Studios page using the search box - the one with the magnifying glass icon - or scroll down until you find it.

3) Then you should see a page like this, below, titled: 'Venues: Your County (Info/Feedback)' (or 'Studios: Your County (Info/Feedback)

4) Under the ABOUT box, is the INFO / NEWS / DISCUSSIONS / ARTICLES box, which is home to venue/studio details.

5) Below it, click + Add info/news/discussion/article

6) Then simply add the venue/studio name to the title of the post, and details etc. in the main text window.

Please add as much of the following information as you can:

Venue/Studio contact details
Promoter's name and contact details.
Links to websites
A photo of the Venue/Studio.
Your honest thoughts about the venue, promoter or studio

Don't worry too much about formatting, I will see that you have made an entry and I can do any housework necessary later.

And that's it. I will post the link around my social networks in order to encourage comments from those who also know the venue, and before long we should have a useful, update-able, information and feedback resource.

Creating a Venue or Studio page (if you cannot find your COUNTY or REGION - see 2) above)

Now, if there is not a Venues or Studios page for your COUNTY or REGION, you are  welcome to create one. Do do this, follow these steps:

Click on VENUES (INFO/FEEDBACK) or STUDIOS (INFO/FEEDBACK) in the main menu. This will take you to ALL GROUP/PAGES(as below)

From there, click on the +Add box in the top right. This will take you a page like this one, below:

In the Name box type: Venues: Your County (Info/Feedback)

Choose an Image - or leave it and I will add one later

In the Description box copy and paste the following text: 

This page is intended as an information and feedback resource to be used collaboratively by its members.
Members are free to add venues, update details, and to comment on their experiences of those that are listed.
It's what WE make it, so please share at least one venue and/or your experience of it.

The Page Address will be automatic

For the Website, add the URL to the appropriate regioanl page, i.e., if your page is Venues: Isle of Wight (Info/Feedback), you would add the URL of the South East of England Musicians and Bands Regional Group page, which is http://www.rock-til-you-drop-musicians.com/group/southeastmusicians. if you're not sure, just leave it, and I will sort it out.

And for Location/Page Type, insert the word Venues, or Studios.

And press Add Page to save.

And Bob's your uncle!

Then you are free to add a venue by following the instructions on Adding a Venue or Studio(above).
