Is there anyone out there who manages to juggle crazy shifts, and playing in a band? I work 4 on 4 off, and get 3 clear weekends out of 8. How can I do this? I really want to join or form a band…Continue

Comment by graham lightfoot on January 28, 2012 at 14:13 After a gap of 17 years Fire are playing their reunited line-up of Graham Lightfoot (drums) Johnny Harris (guitar/voc) Tony Chester (bass/voc) at the Stumble Inn Cannock. With a 40 year history behind them the boys are back and "on fire" Packed house tonight!!!
Comment by paul turner on June 7, 2011 at 19:39 I don't think it's that, philip - it's just thinking about it and putting the message out on different sites. It's unlikely that we're going to poach gigs from each other. The main problem I find now is that musicians are expected to play for nothing. Open mic sessions have some of the best talent giving their services away free. They're good opportunities to play, of course, and if they're getting it for free, they'll get what they get. If you're near Leamington, then check out Leamington Music Scene on facebook.
Comment by philip white on May 29, 2011 at 13:46 Its a shame that there is very little updated info here from musicians. We could all help each other with gigs, rehearsal rooms etc'. Are mature muzo's still protective of their gigs, are they afraid to recommend gigs, do they think that they will lose gigs to bands they recommend?.
Venues now are not as plentiful as they were, i thought this site would be the ideal place for us old bastards to help each other. My friend is starting a new rock venue, he will need good bands, they will be paid gigs. I aint gonna recommend bands to him that only take. So come on guys, lets share :)
