Started by Phil White. Last reply by Milestone Road Jan 13. 1 Reply

Is there anyone out there who manages to juggle crazy shifts, and playing in a band? I work 4 on 4 off, and get 3 clear weekends out of 8. How can I do this? I really want to join or form a band…Continue

I am a sixty year old Musician, that writes the song, then the music, and then i record it, and post it every where i can, i am no singer, but ithink, that maybe younger guys and girls, could use some of my music, in there search for success.

After a gap of 17 years Fire are playing their reunited line-up of Graham Lightfoot (drums) Johnny Harris (guitar/voc) Tony Chester (bass/voc) at the Stumble Inn Cannock. With a 40 year history behind them the boys are back and "on fire" Packed house tonight!!!

Hi guys the Rockits are live at the Anchor Eckington nr Pershore on friday 10th June 2011 from 9pm, this great little ( yes it is) pub keeps the spirit of live music alive and encourages bands to keep playing it loud and live, they like most pubs cant afford to pay a lot but they have a warm welcome and a great audience, come along and check it out.

I don't think it's that, philip - it's just thinking about it and putting the message out on different sites. It's unlikely that we're going to poach gigs from each other. The main problem I find now is that musicians are expected to play for nothing. Open mic sessions have some of the best talent giving their services away free. They're good opportunities to play, of course, and if they're getting it for free, they'll get what they get. If you're near Leamington, then check out Leamington Music Scene on facebook.

Its a shame that there is very little updated info here from musicians.  We could all help each other with gigs, rehearsal rooms etc'.  Are mature muzo's still protective of their gigs, are they afraid to recommend gigs, do they think that they will lose gigs to bands they recommend?.

Venues now are not as plentiful as they were, i thought this site would be the ideal place for us old bastards to help each other. My friend is starting a new rock venue, he will need good bands, they will be paid gigs. I aint gonna recommend bands to him that only take.  So come on guys, lets share :)

Any gigged yet at the revamped Binswood Tavern (aka the Venew) in Leamington? They have a sign outside saying they're looking for bands,

we are mainly a pub band and we have seen so man venues either stop of close in and around Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, we have the same a lot of high quality open mic nights which are great for one or a duo but the poor old rock and roll band are struggling, :0)

Not here. Leamington/Warwick. Many venues offering 'open mics'. No pay - maybe beer. The quality of the musicians at open mics here is very high, so in effect the bars are getting top quality music for no cost. Sometime a bit of an issue with noise - often 'acoustic' sets are preferred.

Hi guys thought as it been a while since anyone added anything I pose one, is any one else out there finding getting gigs harder and harder, seems that the good music venues / pubs are closing down or restricting the number of bands they have a year, sad to see the opportunity for bands to perform live slowly dissapearing
