Nags Head Rochester Singer Songwriter Open Mike nights

The Nags Head in Rochester High Street (it is in the bit away from the castle heading towards Chatham) has started up a monthly open mike night.   The one difference it that the only rule is that all material must be original.   So a useful outlet for anyone wanting to try new material or simply with some acoustic stuff that doesn't suit their normal band setting.

It is on the second Wednesday of every month starting at 8pm.   You need to get there before that and book a slot - the format is fluid in these early days, the December one was 20 min slots the Jan one 15 min.  PA, mikes and an electro-acoustic is available so you can turn up simply with your talent.

I enjoyed playing there last night - a couple of the regular pub punters came up and complimented my set which is always nice and there was an enthusiastic bunch of performers and friends for support.
